Suggestion for new experiments; lying (not under but..) the coconut palms

Falling down coconut palms without killing them!

A new experience might be to carefully drop and set the coconut trees so that they continue to grow and remain more easily accessible. In Vanuatu, coconut trees lying in the cyclone survived and resumed vertical growth and normal production.

The trunk has the potential, in contact with moisture, to emit new roots and to stay alive, even when lying down. The leaf area should probably be reduced to limit evapotranspiration at the time the palm is laid down.
