A reason why only a few countries are presently requesting germplasm from PNG is that very little information if available about the germplasm conserved in Papua New Guinea. Countries just does not know what to order.
For the other COGENT countries, most of varieties conserved in PNG are only names in a list, without any available characterization data or description in a catalogue..
Only availability of data will create the demand.
